She is the mother of two adventurous boys.
Fathema Zohura
Director, Program
She/Her
Half Bangladeshi half American, Fathema is driven by the importance of medicine as a field and the need to heal others. Fathema works in a private practice in New York as a Medical Assistant.
As a Domestic Violence survivor, she knows firsthand the challenges of overcoming difficult situations and building resilience.


Flavie Fuentes

A mother of 3, Flavie Fuentes is the Pro Bono Director for the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press where she is developing the Protecting Journalists Pro Bono Program.
Béranger Rios
Director, Fundraising
He/Him
Béranger initially joined Women4Women as a grant writing volunteer because he believed there were not enough men supporting domestic violence prevention. The team subsequently asked him to join the Board for his unique perspective.
A lawyer by trade, Béranger has worked in the field of stockholders rights litigation since completing his LLM at Fordham in 2016.

Our Social Worker

Sarah Whitlock
A social worker focused on human rights and social justice, Sarah joins Women4Women to partner with women facing gender-based violence and break down barriers to their economic freedom. Sarah has experience in navigating NYC’s child welfare system and advocating for and with mothers to reunify and stabilize families. Sarah lives in Brooklyn and is passionate about serving her community.

Joseph Pierson
A recent Fulbright Taiwan Scholar, he is a Columbia Law Student and versatile professional with multiple interests from healthcare and fitness, to legal research and business development.
He has a keen passion for helping those in need and writes persuasive grants to help fund programs.

Sébastien Guinchard
Passionate about creating positive change, Sébastien joined Women4Women to contribute his skills in financial planning and strategy. As a dedicated father of three, a marathon enthusiast, and an avid lover of nature and music, he is committed to supporting the organization’s mission of aiding women who have survived domestic violence. Proudly working alongside his wife, Flavie, who serves on the board, Sébastien is excited to play a role in shaping the funding and spending vision for a brighter, more empowered future for these resilient individuals.

Joyceann Cooney-Garippa
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Joyceann currently resides in Staten Island, New York, with her 14-year-old son Michael. She has a 30+ year B2B publishing/events career. Beginning as a writer/editor in the fashion jewelry and watch magazine space, Joyceann has held varied editorial and publisher positions in diverse industries including fashion, accessories, eyewear/sunwear, corporate training and development, manufacturing, among so many others.
Her specialty is reimagining, reenergizing existing publishing brands and employing new tactics to expand a brand’s business portfolio and revenue model. Before full-time consulting for healthcare conference company ICD Events, Joyceann served as Head of Content for Ragan Communications with content oversight of multiple brands, conferences, webinars, training, and research.
